SINGAPORE, SIN - A panel of experts from the institute of policy studies at the Goh Chok Tong school of public policy addressed questions and summarized the pros and cons of having more freedom of speech right here in Singapore. These are the highlights from both sides of the debate.
For more freedom of speech:
- Nice-to-have
- Opportunity to laugh at more people's views
- It's a civil liberty or something
- Root out all the bigots among your friends
- Get to tell Kevin you've always thought he was a fag
Against more freedom of speech:
- Finding out some of these people vote
- 3/4 of all opposition parties here will no longer have manifesto
- Funding cuts at ISA
- Takes away freedom to file police reports from middle-aged women
- Complete breakdown of society and nuclear war
